Orkut is known as a social networking site to make new friends and stay connected with old pals. But with the increasing number of it’s users, you will find several inappropriate contents on Orkut. Few times we meet some irritating creatures on this largest social network, Orkut. Irritating can be defined in many ways, like sending unwanted scraps to you, sending spam messages, using abusive languages or you get irritated once you see their names on orkut. Just to prevent yourself from such people and use Orkut without much hassles, you can prefer to add them to your ignore list. Orkut events feature is designed to add more social convenience to your life. Being the social network, Orkut has started allowing people to manage their real life social events to their profiles and inform their friends about this. Now if you want to pass a new event message to your friend, simply create a new event and all your friends will get notified automatically. Since Orkut has allowed users to lock their albums so that no one can view their personal photos, many Orkut users started searching Google with keywords like, “how to see locked album photos”, ‘view orkut locked album pics”, “locked orkut album hack”, “see images from locked albums” etc. They also find some results, but none of them are working in reality. Sadly, there is no solution to hack into someone’s orkut album and see locked photos, but there is a trick to view anyone’s photo on Orkut in legal way, does not matter if she has locked her album or not. Before couple of months, Orkut enhanced it’s security features and locked all user’s album pictures so that no one can save those photos on their computers. Orkut took this step to protect it’s user’s privacy by disabling right mouse click button on Orkut album photos. Your right mouse button won’t work in those pages that we normally use to save photos. But here is the trick to bypass the right click disable protection and save anyone’s locked photo from his Orkut album. (more…)

Orkut, one of the most popular social networks can be used to play pranks and fool your friends. There are some Orkut prank tricks to apply on your profile, so that your friends will get fooled automatically without any practical involvement from your end. One of those tricks is logout trick, whenever your friends will click on a link, they will get logged out of Orkut automatically. Another prank is to show your friends Orkut deleted profile page and let them get worried thinking that their profile has been deleted by Orkut. And one most popular Orkut trick is to have a link on your ‘About Me” page wrapped with words like “My Best friend” or the “Looser on Orkut” and whoever will click on that link, he will get redirected to his own profile, thinking that you have written that link specially for him/her. Leaving your email ID unprotected on Orkut might lead to so many unpleasant things like Orkut profile hacking, unsolicited friend requests, junk mails etc. Though it was possible to know any Orkut user’s email address earlier, Orkut has tightened it’s security system and no one can know anyone’s email ID if the user has not set his/her settings otherwise. You can also keep your email ID secure on orkut by not allowing anyone to view your email address from the privacy settings page. (more…)

Orkut has got more chatting functionality after getting integrated with Gtalk. You can easily choose your status message for Gtalk on Orkut. Currently it supports four options and you can choose them to go offline, invisible, online or busy. Each status will display a tiny status icon next to your name. It will show green for online users, red for busy users and gray for both offline and invisible user. Having a gray sign next to your name on Orkut, will make your Gtalk status offline, even if you are invisible in reality. (more…)

Since Gtalk was got integrated with Orkut, you can chat with any of your Orkut friends on Orkut site itself, without logging into Gtalk chat. But usually not all our friends appear in our Gtalk list, the reason behind this is that they are yet to integrate Orkut and Google account or you have not invited them to chat with you. And in some other cases you might be thinking of blocking someone from chatting with you. Orkut has a common platform to allow, invite or block friends from chatting with you on Orkut. Orkut testimonial is a great way to post your comments or notes about someone. But since Orkut has applied some strict policies to these testimonials, you can’t use HTML codes, images, BB codes etc. Such limitations restrict people from customizing their testimonials and as a result people end up sending plain text testimonials. But if there is a will, there is a way. Here I’ll tell you the way to send your own images as testimonials to your friends.
