There are Orkut users who has Yahoo, Rediff, Hotmail, Sify or any other email service provider’s account associated with their Orkut profile. There is nothing wrong in that since Orkut allows to get registered with any existing email address. But since there are some services on Orkut like Gtalk chat that needs a Google account. If you don’t have a Google account, you can’t even think of using chat on Orkut as of now. But you can link your existing Orkut profile with a Google account and take advantage of few Orkut features.
To link your orkut profile, you need to have a Google account. If you don’t have a Google account, create one account by opening a Gmail account. After having a Gmail account, read further.
Linking Orkut profile with Google Account
- Go to Google Accounts page.
- Find Email Addresses menu and click on Edit next to it.
- It will take you to an another page where you can link your third party email address with your Google account.
- Type your existing email address that’s associated with your Orkut account and click on Save.
- You are done.
After linking Orkut profile with Google account, you can login to Orkut using Google account details. It will automatically enable your Gtalk access on orkut and you can start chatting with your orkut friends. If you face any problem, use the below comments section for assistance.
