How to Load Orkut Pages Faster by Blocking Images
Not all of us use high speed internet connection to access Orkut. Since Orkut shows different images on every page, like your friend’s picture, your display images, application thumbnails etc, it takes time to load all those images and serve the page. Now if you are using a low speed internet connection or want to get your job done on Orkut faster, you can block all images from being shown by selecting the Orkut’s low bandwidth version. It will help people who access Orkut using GPRS, Dial up or similar connections.
How to enable Low Bandwidth version of Orkut
- Login to your Orkut account.
- Click on Settings at the bottom of left sidebar.
- In the General tab, look for a option called low bandwidth.
- Select the Show the low bandwidth version of Orkut radio button.
- Click on Save to save all changes you have made.
- You are done.
Now you should be able to see the low bandwidth version of Orkut which blocks all images and displays only text and links. Here is the screenshot of my Orkut profile in the low bandwidth version :
Note that no images will be displayed on your profile in stead of your profile display picture. You are not minimizing your account features in any way, you can always feel free to upgrade to enhanced and normal version of Orkut by following above procedure and choosing Show the normal version of orkut from the low bandwidth option.
